Happy Landings

While looking for a new job, I came across this crafty bit of media placement. From my 19th floor office, I had often looked out into the city, wondering where I would land at the end of my job hunt.

Contrary to Career Builder’s advice, I did jump. I closed my eyes, counted backwards from ten and leapt from the heights of my office. Sure, it took me a while and a bit of courage to even stand on the ledge, but once there, there was no looking back.

Well, now I’ve landed. Not with a thump or a splat, a bang or a crash but more with the silence one might hear when witnessing a perfect ten on a pummel horse dismount. What I’m saying is, I stuck it.

How did I land so well? I looked before I leapt. I found a place where I wanted to be, a place where coming to work in the morning was not a chore but instead a welcome way to spend my day. I landed at eROI. It’s been a week or so since my arrival and already I know it will be a long time until I look to jump again.

So, nice media placement Career Builder but I must disagree. I say jump. Just look first and make sure not to land in front of a bus.
