Shaq – Twitter – eROI: Who Knew?

The power of Twitter has never been so apparent in the eROI office as when @The_Real_Shaq tweeted “Anybody in portland touches me rt now will get two tickets I’m at redstar cafe.” As Megan put it “It was like a stampede upstairs!”
Leading the frenzied mob was Christine and Don who fought their way to the Red Star for a chance to grope the 7 foot 1 mammoth. Christine, a dedicated Blazer fan, saw the tweet, took off her earrings and ran the seven blocks in moccasins with Don at her side. Somehow, with the will of true Blazer fans and the hearts of eROI employees, Christine and Don the magnificent were able to reach O’Neal and claim their prize – two tickets each to a rocking basketball game. A proud day for all.

Wow, good job to those who got tickets. Congratulations to the eROI crew representing twitter in full force. I would expect nothing less. Not to mention three people touched him in a matter of like 7 minutes.

This was one of the most exciting things to happen around here at eROI in a long time. You should have seen and heard the excitement in the office when they came back victorious!

I wasn’t sure what was going on. I heard a ton of yelling and then the stampede out the door. I got really excited… “What’s going on” Then I found out it was all for basketball tickets. Not being a sports fan I was a little disappointed. Now if it was Trey tweeting about Phish tickets. That would be a different story. Ah well, still a very cool use of Twitter.

It was so cool to hear Christine yell out where Shaq was and to see her and Don bolt. Yeah!! The pic is awesome, too :)

Yea, this was so cool. Great to see Shaq, the Big Cactus, utilizing Twitter to its full potential. When we got word of his tweet it was great to see Christine and Don sprint out the door (Don’s hesitation inhaler grab was priceless).
So I had put @THE_REAL_SHAQ on mobile updates but I wasn’t getting them prior to the ticket release. I received his tweet about Portland “twitterers” being the “niiiiccest,” but none before that. Can he turn off mobile updates from going out to his followers? Is he in cahoots with Twitter?
